Every single time i end a show, i always say this. and 1/2 the time i never mean it.... but this time i honestly do.

in theatre we, as performers, have the best possible oppurtunity to make life long friends. in theatre, people are honest, truthful, and many times ruthless. but in this show, i met people who already shared several common bonds with. A love for the stage, and a love for Christ. I honestly think that this show has brought me more joy and love than anyother show. the cast and crew were so open and loving to me and i can only pray that that love was shown to our audience.

i believe that we accomplished something many cannot. we put on a production that not only changed minds, but it changed hearts. the most rewarding thing of all would have to be the love that you have all shown me. i think that this cast is the most closely knit family i have ever seen.

i love you all from the bottom of my hearts. thank you so much for showing me God's compassion.

Rocked my Face to Planet Z and back!

Ok, from a youths perspective, I thought it was ridiculously awesome how cool everything was. Honestly, there was not one bad thing about this whole production. Although I didn't experience the 70's I definitely got a feel for it when doing this. The cast and crew was fan-freaking-tastic! I definitely agree with Beth that I'm going to miss it.

How people responded to it: Every single person I talked to liked it, but I'm not sure if it was because it was actually good, or if they just liked my girl pants...I can't really tell. Anyways, I think people liked it a lot...the people coming out of the Chapel stage place told me how much they enjoyed it, and I even got a couple hugs from people who enjoyed. So, all I have to say is...I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT TO DO IT AGAIN NEXT FALL!!!! (wink wink Geoff)

Friends

I never thought that i would feel this way after doing a production of God's word! it feels amazing!! but what really got me was that, not just my friends that went, but all of my friends were hearing good things about it and still to this day i get asked how it was and if it was fun to be a part of. of course i tell them that it was AMAZiNG!! :)) so i dont think that it reached those who saw it, but those that heard of it were touched, maybe in a different way, but they were still touched. and one of my friends, hes not a christian and he went and i just think that that was his first BIG step, im just glad that it was Godspell! and i will never lose contact with any of the cast, hopefully!! i love you all toooo much! :)) and i will definantley take something from this experience.

Godspell is life. After

Godspell is life. After seeing this production for the first time I found myself interested in the readings at church. I had seen them in a new light and it interested me. After being in this production I am again awakened to the scripture but also to the meaning of Godspell. The community that was built with facepaint will continue to be a community even when the make up is washed off and the costumes no longer worn. This is what it feels like to ba a part of God's loving family and it is something I will never forget. I felt it and I know some of the audience delt the sence of community that we had created.

Cross generational

Godspell was truly a cross-generational show.  As one of those of us who experienced the 70's, I felt a little embarrassed until the timelessness of the message was brought to life, mostly by young people who had to project themselves into a time they never knew.  How can a contemporary show from 30 years ago still be so contemporary?  Wow!

Godspell is life!

This production truly was and still is a "God thing"!  It really never should have happened in the first place, let alone become as wonderful of an impact as it has.  So many things behind the scenes threatened this production from ever taking off, but God has a funny sense of humor that makes me laugh everyday. Hard work, great team, wonderful music and technology...

A memorable production...cannot wait for more!

"STOP! This is the beginning!" from Godspell...

Love you all!

What a gift

I was asked at least 1000 times how the musical went or if it was well received by the audiance.  Honestly I have no idea...don't get me wrong I heard all the wonderful comments being made.  But my senses were more than a little overwhelmed just dealing with the gifts this production bestowed on me.

I will miss so much the daily hugs and hi's and smiles from this cast and crew.  And I'm sad that it's over.  But I'm INCREDIBLY GRATEFUL for the new family that has adoptede me.  I have never witnessed God's love more fully than in the faces, and action of this cast and crew AND their families!!!!

My love to you all - Donna

What a Great Experience

It is funny how life happens, and we tend to forget the most imporant lessons we have learned.  I know so well the parables that Jesus taught, but hearing them and acting them out made them so much more meaningful.  This experience reminded me that we are all just a small piece of God's much larger plan; and living our lives the why He intended, with the gifts He has provided, is the most important task we will ever have.  I pray that with this production we were able to reach out and touch just one heart, bring just one soul to Jesus, and remind just one person what love really is all about.

I so enjoyed this wonderful experience.  The cast and directors were all so amazing to work and play with.  And, I discovered I am really not the old after all.

Blessings and Love to All!

Community

So... the purpose of this show was to show how community could be fostered through following Christ...  What was interesting to me was that simply performing in the play fostered a community all its own.  Yes, we acted the parts, and entertained people... but the cast--the entire cast--became this neat new family unit... We're all close in ways that we might never have been, simply meeting one another in random situations.

It was a pleasure and an honor to experience this with you all... and it's not without sadness that it's retired (for the time-being).  Okay... so I have free evenings and weekends now, and I get to not break out from massive amounts of make up, Cool and sweat under burning, bright stage lights, and can start healing from various theatrical wounds like carpet burns and bruises on random limbs--not to mention, I can have regular meals now, and some semblance of a life... but... I think to myself... all those things were part of the considerable charm of Godspell.  I will miss it.

I will miss being with my family every day.  I miss getting motivated before performance (I'm fired up, are you fired up?), 16-part harmony Amazing Grace, Innocent Daily Cast Pot Lucks, profound conversations with EVERYone, The Adventures of Super Gilmer and Evil Genius Ryan, Boom-Chicks, missing top hats and canes, improvising entire scenes, welder smoke in my eyes, scaffolding jungle gym, The VW Bug of Gethsemane, dancing, laughing, sobbing, Cry love festing, whispering (IT'S A SECRET!!!), and just being alive--more alive than I've been in so long.

There will be more plays, true... but this one holds a particularly special place in my heart.

Love, Love, Love, Love, Love, Love...
