If you read Matthew 18, it shares a vision for how Jesus would like the Body of Christ to handle conflict. It is clear that Jesus dealt with a lot of conflict and saw that the church would as well. Conflict is a funny thing because it is a lab in which we really learn and God uses it to deepen some of our best relationships, yet in the church of Jesus Christ we continue to fumble with conflict. What is it about conflict that is so hard for us? Is it our own sin, or our personal biases? Is it our personal conflict resolution style that is at issue? Or is it just the reality of our humanity. When you read 1 Corinthians chapter 13 you realize that conflcit is not the only area where we can miss the mark. Love is hard work, yet it is at the core of our humanity and our desire to love and be loved. It is funny how the Kingdom of God works in this way....
