Sports Ministry Takes Off!

This weekend is the beginning of our new, sports ministry!

From 11:45 to 12:30, we'll be signing up children (5 years through 5th Grade) for the new, children's sports ministry!  The sign-up will take place in the Fellowship Hall at Briargate.  But this new, sports ministry isn't limited to children!  In your bulletin this Sunday, look for a questionnaire concerning adult sports ministry.  We want to do what you are interested in.  So please plan on completing that questionnaire this weekend!

And, to go along with the sports theme, we'll have a Super, Souper Bowl party!  Gather at Woodmen about 30 minutes before the game for delicious soup, homemade bread and refreshments!  And then get to see the Super Bowl on the Big, Big screen!  (The only thing that would make it better would be if the Broncos were playing...but next year!)

I'll be continuing the "No Fear" series.  This has turned into a very power series and I'll be talking about the Fear of Failure this weekend!

We've got another great weekend at Sunrise!  See you then.

Grace and peace,

Marv Vose

Flyers are now available for our high school and middle school retreats.  Get these flyers at any Student Ministry event or online at http://www.sunrisestudents.org/.  Don't miss out, the deadlines approach quickly.   The first deadline for the high school retreat is Wednesday February 6.

Can you play an instrument?  If so, we really need you for Johnny Unforgettable on February 8 & 10.  There will also be some practices involved.  Instruments we need are:  Trombone, Trumpet, Keyboard, Guitar, and Saxophone.  Please contact Marcus ASAP (648-6396 or marcus@sunrisestudents.org).

There are no student programs Wednesday night February 6.  Students are encouraged to attend the Ash Wednesday service instead.
